NEAWP chose Austin as the site for the 2009 annual convention because of the region's up-and-coming reputation as a scenic, affordable and chic wedding destination. The association cites Austin's diverse entertainment districts, historic locations, wide-open Hill Country spaces and Texas charm as additional reasons the city should play host to weddings and special events. The Driskill Hotel serves as the perfect backdrop for the meeting, as attendees will be able to experience the city's opulent history and welcoming hospitality first-hand.
Amy Mader, president of the Austin NEAWP chapter, says, "It is truly an honor for Austin to host this meeting, and we're so excited to welcome Colin Cowie as our guest speaker. This offers Austin's professional event community an opportunity to showcase our skill and artistry among both our peers and potential clients."
